According to the Philanthropy Roundtable, “faith inspires the values of selfless and sacrificial generosity—values that improve lives.” Faith-based philanthropy is a sector that is seeing dramatic growth globally, and Muslim philanthropy is one of the most diverse faith-based philanthropic communities in the United States.

The Muslim Philanthropy Initiative was established in 2017 by the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving and the dean’s office of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Its mission is to create educational programs designed to broaden understanding of the Muslim philanthropic, nonprofit, and voluntary sector. Your contribution to this fund supports the endeavors that the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy undertakes in support of the MPI.

In July 2024, IUPUI will become Indiana University Indianapolis and will no longer be affiliated with Purdue University. The Indiana University Foundation, Inc. will update all fund titles and fund descriptions for IUPUI funds to reflect this change, and funds intended for Purdue’s School of Engineering and Technology will be transferred to Purdue under the agreement between IU and Purdue. Until July 2024, gifts to this fund will continue to be administered by the Indiana University Foundation, Inc., on behalf of IUPUI.
