Additional Info

The Mollie R. Wheat Memorial Clinic is a completely free, student-run clinic that serves the medically underserved and uninsured communities of Indiana. The clinic was founded through a collaboration between students from IU School of Medicine–Terre Haute and Indiana State University.

Named in honor of Mollie R. Wheat, a compassionate advocate for health care and mother of IU School of Medicine–Terre Haute graduate John Wheat, the clinic reflects her legacy of resilience, kindness, and commitment to helping others.

The clinic offers primary care services, preventive health screenings, and education on managing chronic diseases. It also provides referrals for specialized care when needed. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, the clinic is staffed by medical students, public health administration students, dietetics students, and a supervising physician. This model ensures that patients receive comprehensive, holistic care while allowing students to gain real-world clinical experience.

Housed in the Landsbaum Center for Health Education in Terre Haute, the clinic operates with the support of generous donors and community partnerships. Your gift to this fund ensures that the clinic continues to serve those most in need while training the next generation of compassionate health care professionals.
