Ray Bradbury dreamt big. At the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies, we have a big dream ourselves: creating a nationally-recognized museum, archive, and outreach center dedicated to preserving Bradbury’s legacy—forever. Ray Bradbury’s work and influence spans many aspects of modern American intellectual and popular culture, including mainstream literature, the highly popular genre fields of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and detective fiction, and nearly all forms of media presentation, including radio, television, stage drama, film, magazines, periodical and book illustration, and graphic fiction.

The Center for Ray Bradbury Studies is home to more than 100,000 pages of published and unpublished literary works stored in 31 of the author’s filing cabinets; 40 years of Bradbury’s personal and professional correspondence (an additional 10,000 pages); and author’s copies of Bradbury books, including extensive foreign language editions, and his working library (a combined 4,000 volumes).

The Center’s mission is to:

  • Fully document, preserve, and provide public access to its diverse collection of Space-Age visionary author Ray Bradbury’s literature works, art, artifacts, personal office, mementos, audiovisual materials and juvenilia
  • Enable visiting scholars and students to conduct research
  • Expand its outreach programming in the Indianapolis community, throughout Indiana, and nationally, with an emphasis on reaching high school teachers, students, and librarians
  • Continue publishing the critical edition of Bradbury’s collected stories and our annual scholarly journal, The New Ray Bradbury Review

We know that Ray Bradbury has a special place in many people’s hearts. That’s why we’re committed to preserving—and protecting—his legacy. We hope you’ll join us in our efforts by making a gift today. Gifts to this fund will be used for the general support of the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies.
