Additional Info

Our society, schools, and communities need teachers and educational leaders, scholars, and activists who have an interest in developing necessary skills to effectively engage and educate diverse learners. The IU School of Education at IU Indianapolis faculty and staff are committed to preparing educators, counselors, administrators, and researchers and empowering them in promoting equitable, just, culturally relevant, and sustaining practices in teaching and learning. Faculty and staff also endeavor to support students financially, because they understand our programs require hundreds of hours of training—limiting students’ ability to work.

Becoming a transformational educator and leader requires passion, lesson planning, research, and classroom and building experience. Thank you for investing in the future educators and leaders of our communities!

Your giving matters

I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for having been chosen to receive this scholarship. As I continue my studies beyond the licensure program in pursuit of my master’s degree in Elementary Education, I do so even more hopeful of reaching my goals and making a difference in the lives of students and families, and even seeing a difference in my own life, as a teacher.
