Additional Info

Wylie House has much to offer as a public heritage site and a curricular resource. The museum actively supports teaching and learning at IU, providing students and faculty with access to the house and its collections for course lessons, research activities, and immersive learning experiences. The museum’s 19th century primary source materials and artifacts are used by a variety of disciplines, including archaeology, anthropology, education, fine arts, history, public health, and more. These materials and artifacts facilitate learning about topics including, but not limited to, maternity care, fabric arts, museum studies, artistic interpretation, and historical studies.
The museum's Morton C. Bradley, Jr. Education Center, situated next door to the museum, provides space for class visits, staff and intern offices, exhibitions, and other programs. Wylie House also provides IU students with experiential learning through internships, employment, and volunteer opportunities.
The Wylie House Museum Fund is the general, unrestricted fund of the museum. Among other important initiatives, this fund has supported student immersion in hands-on learning experiences such as gardening, seed saving, fabric dying, quilting, documenting the history of Indiana University, and executing an archaeological dig.
Thank you for generously supporting this invaluable campus and community resource!
