Geography is in every element of our lives. Geographers examine relationships between people and places, society and nature, and the causes and consequences of environmental change. Geography answers questions spanning the local to the global, in the past, present, and future.

The Department of Geography is an interdisciplinary program that brings together the physical and social sciences, helping us understand the "why of where." Your gift to the IUB Geography Undergraduate Research Scholarship champions research at the undergraduate level. Past recipients of the scholarship have conducted research on issues such as:

  • Food insecurity in Indiana
  • Evictions in Indianapolis
  • Geopolitics in Southeast Asia
  • Political economy in South Asia
  • And more
