The Scholarly Communication Department focuses on transforming the scholarly communications’ landscape in academia.
Projects within the department include:
- Consultations and programs in Open Educational Resources to assist instructors in creating and sharing affordable course materials.
- Pedagogical instruction that introduces students to scholarly communications with the culminating task of publishing their own work.
- Supporting students throughout their academic career with a range of services such as consultations, in-class instruction, and the Black Women’s Research Community, which offers an intensive, full-year support system to help new graduate students on their research path.
- Data services such as data literacy instruction and data management planning.
- Open access journals including The IU Journal of Undergraduate Research, The Hoosier Science Teacher, and Digest: A Journal of Foodways and Culture.
- Operating three repositories: IUScholarWorks, IUScholarWorks Open, and IU Data Core.
