Additional Info
Since its establishment in 1941, the Eskenazi Museum of Art has grown from a small university teaching collection into one of the nation’s leading university art museums. Collection areas include African art, ancient art, Asian art, global contemporary art, European and American Art, Indigenous art, Oceanic art, and prints, drawings, and photography.
Collection care and maintenance is a vital part of our role as preservers of cultural history and creative output. Our conservation efforts include:
- Research of materials and techniques
- Condition reporting and damage documentation
- Interventional object treatment
- Technical study and field advancement
Conservators also advise on desirable environmental conditions, including lighting, temperature, relative humidity, presentation, loans, and general care. Many of the museum's conservation activities take place in the museum’s Center for Conservation.
With your help, we can ensure that the museum’s incredible treasures are preserved for the teaching and enrichment of students and visitors for generations to come. Thank you for your generous support!
Your giving matters

I appreciate all of the efforts that keep these various works preserved, protected, and maintained for future generations. This has become my way of working behind the scenes to provide a way for these works to continue to be appreciated and enjoyed.
