Our department teaches Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan, and prepares students with the language, critical thinking, and intercultural skills they need to become global citizens. 

Donations to this fund support the many initiatives and events we organize on an annual basis, including lectures, workshops, and roundtables that bring writers and experts in the field to campus to engage with our students and the wider community. This fund also enables us to recognize the achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and alumni, including our Merle E. Simmons Distinguished Alumni Lecture, our Teatro VIDA performances, our Song Festival, club activities, service-learning opportunities for undergraduate students, faculty research, public-facing events, and much more.
