Give Back. Lift Up.

By Social Work

Indiana is facing a critical shortage of social workers—every one of its 92 counties is underserved. At the same time, IU School of Social Work students face an average unmet financial need of $18,000, making it harder to complete their degrees and enter the field where they’re urgently needed.

More Info

This October, we’re launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise support for the IU School of Social Work Alumni Association Scholarship, an endowed fund that provides financial assistance to students who demonstrate:

  • Significant financial need
  • Academic excellence
  • A strong commitment to service

Matching Gift Opportunity: To amplify the impact, all donations made during October will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the IUSSWAA Scholarship Matching Gift Fund until available matching funds run out. That means your gift—whether $50, $100, or $250—goes twice as far to help students stay in school and serve Indiana communities.

Why Give:

  • Help students overcome financial barriers
  • Support the next generation of social workers
  • Strengthen Indiana’s social service workforce
  • Leave a legacy of compassion and care

Ways to Give:

  • Make a secure online gift: Give Now
  • Use a Donor Advised Fund or Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA
  • If you’re 73+, consider using your required minimum distribution to make a tax-smart gift
  • Explore creating a Charitable Gift Annuity for lifetime income and student support
  • A gift of Appreciated Stock could provide a tax benefit to you

Together, we can help more students answer the call—and strengthen the future of social work in Indiana.
