Additional Info

Charles R. Bantz, IU Indianapolis Chancellor from 2003–2015, believes in the power of community-engaged research and university-community partnerships to make lasting, positive impacts in our communities, city, and state. In his honor, the Charles R. Bantz Chancellor’s Community Research Fund ensures that his community-engagement legacy lives on through IU Indianapolis research that addresses complex problems.
The “Bantz Awards” are one-year grants that support a collaborative research team of IU Indianapolis faculty, staff, students, and community partners who work together to address a pressing issue in Central Indiana. Awarded since 2016, Bantz Award goals include working “in” and “with” the community to address local needs and translating research into solutions that improve lives.
