More Info

Charles R. Bantz, IU Indianapolis Chancellor from 2003–2015, believes in the power of community-engaged research and university-community partnerships to make lasting, positive impacts in our communities, city, and state. The “Bantz Awards” are one-year grants that support a collaborative research team of IU Indianapolis faculty, staff, students, and community partners who work together to address a pressing issue in Central Indiana. Awarded since 2016, Bantz Award goals include working “in” and “with” the community to address local needs and translating research into solutions that improve lives.

Hear from Dr. Victoria Wilburn, associate professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University Indianapolis and the 2021 Charles R. Bantz Community Scholar Award recipient, as she shares the powerful impact of community-engaged research and how the Bantz Award shaped her career.
