Today, the IU Indianapolis Regatta is more than just a canoe race and celebration of community. It also raises money for a vital scholarship program.

The IU Indianapolis Regatta Scholarship honors Stefan S. Davis, who served as Executive Director of the IU Indianapolis Office of Alumni Relations and senior executive with the IU Alumni Association from 1994 to 2015. He was instrumental in building the annual gathering into a signature program of the IU Indianapolis campus.

The scholarship in his name recognizes Davis’s lifelong dedication and service to the University and IU Indianapolis’s growing alumni community. The annual awards provide support for students during their time at IU Indianapolis and serve as an example of the role IU Indianapolis alumni can play in shaping the campus experience.

To be recognized by the Stefan S. Davis Scholarship is particularly meaningful to me because of Regatta's role in my IUPUI story; it was the first organization I committed myself to on campus. Regatta offered me the opportunity to reach out and connect with our students, staff, and overall Indianapolis community. The scholarship's impact is immense, as it recognizes students that strive for the best in and out of the classroom. This scholarship financially empowers us to continue pursuing our passions, academic or otherwise, without barriers.
