The Wells Scholars Program, created over 30 years ago in honor of IU Chancellor Herman B Wells (shown in photo with students in 1969), offers the benefits of the finest public university education in the nation to the best students nominated by high schools in Indiana, the United States, and the world. The program is supported by people like you who believe in the indelible contributions and positive impact that our scholars will make to the IU and Bloomington communities—and beyond.
Gifts to the Wells Scholars Unrestricted fund support:
- The memory of Chancellor Wells and this community of talented and dedicated young scholars that embody the permanent legacy of his educational vision
- Academically brilliant scholars during their time at IU as they desire to make a difference in the world through community activism, scientific discovery, writing, art, or music
- General support of programming and activities at the historic Harlos House
- International support for studying abroad
- The Freshman International Trip
