Help Hamilton Lugar students live and learn in Washington, D.C. in our new study-away D.C. Global Leadership Forum!

More Info

Hamilton Lugar students’ global and international studies education is strengthened by studying in Washington, D.C. and your gift on IU Day helps deliver this tangible study away experience—a study abroad approach but in the U.S. capital!

Under the leadership of founding dean Ambassador Lee Feinstein, Hamilton Lugar students meet with ambassadors and senators, engage with policy wonks and legislators, and explore the institutions of U.S. government and policy first-hand.

Last summer Hamilton Lugar launched our D.C. Global Leadership Forum, and your IU Day gift bolsters the program as we continue the summer session and launch academic year sessions this fall. In our new academic year sessions, students will continue to take classes from IU and guest faculty while exploring D.C. and completing an internship or supervised research. These experiences prepare our students for the next step in their chosen careers.

Hamilton Lugar Dean’s Advisory Council Chair Gene Renuart has started our day with a generous gift of $1,000 and challenges the rest of our alumni and friend community to make a gift to support this program and our students.

"This IU Day, I’m proud to support the Hamilton Lugar D.C. Global Leadership Forum. IU’s new venue will provide an extraordinary living/learning experience, collaborating with excellent faculty all while living and working in our nation’s capital. Our students will have the chance to see the complicated process of governance up close, learn from superb practitioners, and, hopefully, jumpstart their careers. I invite you to join me in this effort." - Hamilton Lugar Dean’s Advisory Council Chair Gene Renuart
