John F. Johnston Fund for the Graduate Prosthodontics Lab Renovation

By Dentistry

We are calling on our alumni and friends to help us raise funds for the Graduate Prosthodontics Laboratory upgrade. Bench dedication opportunities start at $25,000.

More Info

We are in the middle of our 3-year effort to raise funds for the Dykema Graduate Laboratory upgrade. A little financial help is needed from every one of you to make this project happen. Unlike previous dental school projects, there is no financial assistance available from the school, university or state. We must fund this improvement entirely on our own. The lab project has its own account: The John F. Johnston Fund for the Graduate Prosthodontics Lab Renovation. We hope to achieve the target sum of $770,000 by the end of 2027, so that detailed planning and construction can begin in 2028.

Any sum, large or small, moves the cause forward. As some of you begin to plan for retirement and charitable /legacy contributions, please remember how important the lab was in our graduate school experience. It housed our technic courses, provided the facilities for our patient lab work, gave us space to work on aspects of research, taught us how to train and communicate with technicians, and promoted a web of strong and deep friendships and priceless cultural exchange. A special donation of $25,000 will allow dedication of a lab bench with a plaque naming the beneficiary (note: there are only 24 of these available). Large donations such as a lab bench may be divided over 2 or 3 years. Thank you.
