This IU Day there will be a dollar for dollar match up to $6,000!

The IU School of Social Work Student Emergency Fund is a vital, faculty driven initiative designed to provide immediate financial assistance to students facing unexpected financial hardships. By supporting this fund, alumni and friends can directly impact the lives of social work students who are committed to making a difference in their communities. Many social work students juggle academic responsibilities with part-time jobs and family obligations, leaving them vulnerable to financial crises. Approximately forty percent of our students are first generation and may struggle with the costs of tuition, textbooks and other life necessities. Your gift today can help ensure these dedicated individuals can stay in school, continue their education and graduate on time.

Moreover, investing in the IUSSW Student Emergency Fund is an investment in the future of social work. The students you support today will become the compassionate and skilled social workers of tomorrow, addressing critical issues such as mental health and addictions, and child welfare. They are future nonprofit leaders and advocates for those often unseen by society. By alleviating their financial burdens, you enable them to complete their education and enter the workforce ready to make a meaningful impact. Your generosity not only helps individual students but also strengthens the entire community by ensuring a steady pipeline of well-prepared social workers, at a time when there is a shortage throughout the United States, and in particular the state of Indiana. Together, we can create a supportive environment where social work students thrive and, in turn, contribute to the well-being of society.
