Midwest Center for Biodiversity Fund

By Department of Biology

Biodiversity – the variety and abundance of Earth’s plants, animals, even microbes – is in sharp decline as never before, resulting in the loss of nature’s services and increasing the risk of diseases crossing from wildlife to humans.

More Info

We know this because scientists, scholars, and volunteer scientists around the world have documented how things used to be and how fast they are changing.

We at Indiana University have established the Midwest Center for Biodiversity (MCB) with the mission of understanding the causes of biodiversity loss in the Midwest and formulating feasible solutions.  Examples of our work include research on the impacts of artificial light at night on bird behavior and a warming climate on bird migration.  We document birds colliding with buildings on campus and support a summer day camp on biodiversity for grade-school kids. Now is the time to stand up for nature.

We would greatly appreciate your support.
