Support the East Asian Studies Center and Internships in East Asia!

By Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies

With your help, we can send students to East Asia for internships, providing practical experience to enhance their careers and create life-changing opportunities!

More Info

The East Asian Studies Center (EASC) is a nexus of knowledge on East Asia. We build networks of practice, resources, and discovery that enhance understanding of East Asia locally, regionally, and nationally.

As part of our mission, we are launching a new initiative to support students who want to complete an internship in Japan, Korea, or Taiwan. The Hamilton Lugar School works with an internship agency for other international internship destinations, but East Asia has yet to be represented. Your funding support will help cover living and lodging expenses for our students during their internship. An internship in an East Asian organization/company is an invaluable opportunity for our students to experience first-hand how their education can be used to solve real-world problems.

“IU students have opportunities through the Hamilton Lugar School to complete internships globally—but we have yet to establish consistent internship opportunities in East Asia. With your help, we can change that!”
— Morten Oxenboell, Director, East Asian Studies Center

Your contribution not only supports programs at the East Asian Studies Center but also can help launch the EASC Internship Initiative.

We invite you to be one of the first 10 donors to help launch this important initiative and further EASC’s mission. In honor of EASC’s 47th anniversary, we are also aiming for 47 donors on IU Day.

With your generosity, we can reach $4,500 to fund the first internship next summer, transforming classroom learning into real-world experience and creating transformative opportunities for global engagement.
