Additional Info
The Institute has collected publications, objects, art, and data that run the gamut of technologies—from ink on paper, to microforms and CD-ROMs—all in service of better understanding human sexual behavior around the world and throughout history. Our collections represent one of the largest assemblages of sex-related material in the world—a critical resource for scholars from a variety of fields including biology, medicine, psychology, psychiatry, and other sciences, as well as literature, poetry, art, law, religious studies, and others.
The Kinsey Institute makes its collections available to any qualified researcher, including Indiana University students and faculty, as well as non-affiliated scholars and professionals. We are eager to expand access to these essential research materials through digitization, but this enormous undertaking needs support from our generous supporters like you.
We are also eager to increase representation of diverse groups in our collections by acquiring materials documenting the diversity of the human experience, which lies at the heart of our research mission. Gifts like yours support our efforts to combat the marginalization of underrepresented groups, in part by expanding our special collections, as well as increasing visibility of current materials within our collections.
