Additional Info

Your gift to this fund is your entry point to this powerful movement—connecting you with a network of passionate changemakers and directly supporting IU students, faculty, and staff through a grantmaking process guided by the WPLC, as approved by the IU Foundation executive vice president for development. Since 2012, the WPLC grants program has invested over $2 million in nearly 200 innovative projects and crucial needs across IU.
The WPLC Fund is a collective giving fund that champions innovative projects grounded in the belief that everyone in the IU community deserves the opportunity to thrive. From access to education and health care, to a clean environment, vibrant arts, and the support needed to succeed, this fund helps turn bold ideas into real impact. Grant applicants are encouraged to share how their projects will reach and uplift a wide range of people across IU—not just women—and how their efforts will help others grow, achieve, and lead.
Grants awarded through this fund have supported outcomes such as:
- Providing eye care for 340+ low-income, preschool-aged children in Monroe County
- Offering free, confidential counseling resources, providing aid to 260+ IU students
- Funding a pilot program providing leadership and career development for 1,000+ women through education, advocacy programming, and salary negotiation workshops, helping equip them with the tools needed to close the gender wage equity gap
- Providing funding for a cross-collaborative initiative that encouraged undergraduate students to pursue social-change careers
These are just a sampling of the many diverse projects supported by the WPLC Fund over the years.
Total annual grant monies available to be awarded each year hinge on the total philanthropic support provided to the WPLC Fund. Because the WPLC only grants out what is raised each year, gifts of all size truly matter!

Your giving matters

To our students, your gift is more than just money: It is upward mobility, a changing trajectory, an opportunity otherwise unavailable to so many. Thank you for believing in our cause and helping our students succeed.
