Established in 1973, IU School of Medicine–Northwest provides a four-year medical education program, including a broad range of clinical experiences in 11 hospitals and five federally qualified health clinics. Located in Gary, a highly populated area 25 miles from downtown Chicago, the campus emphasizes health care in an urban setting through its scholarly concentration in Urban Medicine and Health Care Disparities.
