Additional Info

Global health education can transform how health professionals understand medicine, patients, and their responsibility to others. Through the IU Center for Global Health and the AMPATH partnership, IU residents, fellows, and faculty learn alongside colleagues in Kenya, gaining skills in listening, adapting, and collaborating across cultures and health systems.

But cost can put these experiences out of reach.

The Klapper Family Global Compassion Scholars Fund was created to help overcome the hurdle. The endowed fund provides broad, flexible, lasting support for trainees and faculty across disciplines who participate in global health education programs coordinated by IU and AMPATH. By helping remove financial barriers, you can give more health professionals the opportunity to develop greater compassion, cultural humility, and resourcefulness—qualities they will carry into their care of patients abroad in Kenya, back home in Indiana, and beyond.

Your giving matters

Global health experiences have a way of changing how you think about medicine, your patients, and your responsibility to others as a global citizen. Our family wants to help make sure those opportunities continue to be available to people who will carry those lessons into their careers and their communities.
