The David J. Handel Memorial Lecture Series is a tribute to the remarkable legacy of David Handel. Handel was a servant leader in healthcare throughout his 42-year career, from the time he graduated from business school through his tenure as director of the Master of Health Administration program at the Fairbanks School of Public Health. This lecture series, fueled by the generous contributions of Handel’s family and friends, aims to build community, foster collaboration, and amplify the voices of underrepresented leaders in healthcare.

Please note, the name and purpose of the fund displayed on this page constitute the authorized description of the fund by the Indiana University Foundation, Inc. Your gift supports the fund as described herein.

This account is an endowment. Your gifts to this fund will be invested in perpetuity to provide annual income to support the purpose of the account. Per Indiana University Foundation, Inc. policy, endowment accounts which do not ultimately become fully funded at the required minimum through pledges/gifts will be converted to an expendable account supporting the same purpose as the original endowed fund.

Gifts will be administered by the Indiana University Foundation, Inc. which represents Indiana University. This is not a gift to Indiana University Health, and the Indiana University Health Foundation will not play a role in administering these accounts.

In July 2024, IUPUI will become Indiana University Indianapolis and will no longer be affiliated with Purdue University. The Indiana University Foundation, Inc. will update all fund titles and fund descriptions for IUPUI funds to reflect this change, and funds intended for Purdue’s School of Engineering and Technology will be transferred to Purdue under the agreement between IU and Purdue. Until July 2024, gifts to this fund will continue to be administered by the Indiana University Foundation, Inc., on behalf of IUPUI.
