The Department of Community and Global Health Community Impact Fund was established to support the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IU Indianapolis in its mission to foster healthier communities through meaningful partnerships. Specifically, the fund provides financial support for expenses related to community engagement activities within the Department of Community and Global Health.

These activities span a wide range of initiatives—from local programs addressing chronic disease prevention and youth resilience, to international collaborations focused on maternal and newborn health, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development. 

Signature efforts supported by the fund include the IU Indianapolis ECHO Center, which uses technology to connect community providers with expert-led learning networks to improve care for complex and chronic conditions, and the Diabetes Impact Project (DIP-IN), a neighborhood-based initiative aimed at reducing diabetes-related complications and improving health equity in underserved Indianapolis communities.

By investing in reciprocal learning, innovative research, and culturally responsive practice, this fund can empower faculty, students, and community partners to co-create solutions that promote health equity and lasting impact both at home and around the world.
