Additional Info
At IU School of Medicine, doctors and scientists are working to keep our brains and bodies healthy as we age. Their work focuses on precision medicine—a way of treating people that considers their unique genes, biology, and lifestyle to deliver the best care.
Your gift will support expenses incurred by IU School of Medicine for research in precision medicine treatments for diseases related to aging in the Department of Neurology. These studies, projects, and trials focus on conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other brain disorders that can affect memory, thinking, and daily life. By learning how these diseases take root and change over time, the School of Medicine’s researchers can find better ways to diagnose them early and design treatments that match each person’s individual needs.
Using advanced tools like brain scans, blood tests, and genetic analyses, our scientists search for early signs of disease—often years before symptoms appear. Their goal is to improve brain health, slow or prevent decline, and help people live longer, more active lives. Researchers also work with other experts at IU who study aging, mental health, and decision-making. Together, they are turning scientific discoveries into real-life care that supports older adults and their families.
Your gift helps IU School of Medicine researchers start new projects, purchase lab equipment, and train the next generation of doctors and scientists. With your generosity, the School of Medicine and Department of Neurology can continue leading the way in understanding how to prevent and treat the diseases of aging—helping people everywhere live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
