One of the McKinney School's current signature projects is the Rural Justice Initiative, which places students with judges and district attorney and public defender offices in counties throughout Indiana that are experiencing a shortage of attorneys. Students gain practical experience with legal professionals, grow their network, and become familiar with different areas of the state. This initiative also serves as a pipeline for rural counties to receive legal support. Students participating in this initiative assist with cases and make an immediate impact in rural communities.
Thank you for helping shape the next generation of leaders and public servants, while making an immediate difference in the lives of citizens in rural Hoosier communities!
I couldn’t recommend the Rural Justice Initiative highly enough. It was a really wonderful experience for me. I learned so much more about the law than I really anticipated I could in the space of three months. I would highly recommend participating in the program.
