Additional Info

Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States, with recurrence rates among the highest of any form of cancer. Through innovative research, the School of Medicine discovers and refines clinical advances that result in compassionate and better outcomes for patients.

The Bladder Cancer Research Fund supports the school's Department of Urology in its mission to pioneer advancements in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of bladder cancer. Philanthropic contributions enable our experts to develop new diagnostic tools, identify innovative therapies, create patient-centered care approaches, and conduct clinical trials aimed at personalizing treatment and reducing recurrence.

Faculty in the department lead nationally recognized research in tumor immunology, molecular targeting, and surgical optimization. With a focus on translating lab-based discoveries into improved bedside care, the fund fuels interdisciplinary projects that harness IU's research infrastructure and patient base to accelerate breakthroughs.

Every gift contributes to advancing new ideas—whether it's uncovering the genetic drivers of bladder cancer, enhancing surgical precision, or designing better long-term surveillance methods. Support from alumni, grateful patients, and friends plays a pivotal role in enabling our researchers and clinicians to deliver hope and healing for those affected by this challenging disease.
