Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among men, and IU School of Medicine is on the front lines of improving care and outcomes. The Prostate Cancer Research Fund supports breakthrough studies in the Department of Urology—one of the top-performing programs in the nation for prostate cancer surgery and research.
Our team, led by Clint Cary, MD, MPH, MBA, is driving advancements in early detection, surgical innovation, and the tumor microenvironment. Researchers are exploring how cholesterol and amino acids affect immune suppression in prostate tumors and working to overcome resistance to hormone therapies.
One project is evaluating whether PSMA-PET imaging can guide nerve-sparing prostatectomy and reduce side effects like incontinence and erectile dysfunction. These efforts aim to personalize care, improve quality of life, and reduce health disparities.
Your contribution supports faculty-led research, resident education, clinical trials, and the next generation of urologic innovation. Together, we are funding a future where prostate cancer is not only treatable but preventable.
