Additional Info
IU School of Medicine is the founding U.S. partner and leader of the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH), a globally praised, large-scale, community-based program that is dramatically improving population health in western Kenya through research, training, and delivery of health care services. The program’s goal is to build holistic, sustainable health in Kenya and around the world.
Your gift can support a variety of initiatives, including education and training for medical professionals, which is essential to improving care in the region. Currently, Kenya has about 200 radiologists for a population of more than 54 million people—about 1 per 270,000 people. In contrast, there is one radiologist per approximately 6,000 people in the U.S. The entire country of Kenya currently has less than 10 interventional radiologists, compared to 20+ at IU Health in Indianapolis alone.
Your generosity will make a life-changing difference to countless individuals and families. Thank you for your support!
