Additional Info
The right support, early on, can shape a student's entire college experience. The IU Indianapolis DEAP Fund connects undergraduate students to a powerful network: mentors who check in, friends who understand, and staff who are fully invested in their future.
Your gift can help provide scholarships and financial assistance that reduce the cost barriers standing between a student and their degree. Furthermore, it will sustain the support that keeps them enrolled and moving forward.
DEAP helps students build a foundation early. Through the First-Year Experience, incoming scholars pair with peer mentors who know what it takes to navigate the transition to college. They also take part in success workshops, exclusive first-year seminar courses, and an intensive Bridge Week to help them build strong habits and settle into campus life. Some Scholars also live and learn together in the DEAP House, the program's living-learning community.
As students advance, DEAP expands to match their goals. Second-year scholars step into the Emerging Leaders Program, which hosts monthly workshops focused on professionalism, interpersonal communication, and leadership. Closer to graduation, Career ConNEXTions helps scholars prepare for what comes next through professional development, graduate school coaching, and pathways like the DEAP Law Scholars Program. Along the way, they gain professional mentoring and valuable networking with faculty, staff, and established experts in their fields.
Comprehensive academic aid is woven into every step of the journey. Whether a student needs one-on-one success coaching, academic tutoring, group study tables, major exploration, or academic recovery workshops, the right tools are always within reach. Scholars also have access to the DEAP Lounge, a dedicated space that serves as the heart of the program—a place to study, connect with peers, meet with staff, and build the sense of belonging that is essential to academic success and personal growth.
This steady, holistic support is exactly what empowers scholars to stay enrolled, build lifelong confidence, and cross the graduation stage prepared for success beyond IU Indianapolis. Your gift expands these life-changing resources to more students, helping them find their place, earn their degree, and reach their highest potential. Thank you for supporting DEAP Scholars.
Your giving matters
As a DEAP scholar, I have come to thoroughly enjoy the program. My favorite part is connecting with my peers and the staff. They're like a family that supports you throughout your college experience and beyond.
