Additional Info

One of the important programs supported by gifts to this fund is Feed IU: a comprehensive initiative designed to strengthen IU’s food pantry network and ensure all students have access to essential resources.

Feed IU is tackling food insecurity head-on by expanding campus food pantries, increasing access to nutritious food, and reducing stigma. With dedicated support staff, 24/7 access options, and a commitment to student well-being, this initiative ensures that every IU student has the resources they need to thrive—because success starts with a full stomach.

Your gifts can support:

  • Consistent and reliable funding to ensure pantry operations remain sustainable.
  • Expanded pantry offerings, including fresh produce, nutritious foods, and personal hygiene products.
  • Dedicated Resource Navigators to manage pantry operations and connect students with additional support services.
  • Marketing and outreach efforts to increase awareness and reduce stigma around food insecurity.
  • Technology-driven solutions, such as:
    • Refrigerated food lockers for 24/7 student access.
    • Self-service kiosks for easy check-in, check-out, and data collection.
    • PantrySoft software to track usage and manage inventory.

As a result, your generosity helps to:

  • Eliminate unnecessary stressors, so students can focus on learning instead of worrying about their next meal.
  • Build a culture of support, where food pantries are seen as a valuable campus resource, not a last resort.
  • Create long-term solutions, ensuring that basic needs insecurity is addressed in a sustainable and equitable way.

Research shows that students experiencing food insecurity are more likely to struggle academically, face mental health challenges, and consider leaving school. So initiatives like Feed IU aren't just about providing food—they're about creating a stronger, more supportive campus where every student can thrive.

By addressing food insecurity holistically, we will help students focus on their education without the burden of unmet basic needs. With increased accessibility, greater awareness, and a commitment to student well-being, we can work toward a future where no student has to choose between their education and their next meal.

Thank you for your support!

Your giving matters

A hungry student can't reach their full potential. So we're striving to ensure that every student has the nourishment they need to focus, thrive, and succeed—because no one should have to choose between their education and their next meal.
