Additional Info

A stone sculpture of the human brain on the IU Bloomington campus.

The vibrant and nationally recognized Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences (PBS) at IU Bloomington houses over 2,300 undergraduates majoring in this discipline, 100 Ph.D. students, 70 full-time faculty members, and more than 55 laboratories. Established in 1888, PBS is also the longest-running psychology department in the country. We educate 15,000 students per year in our classrooms, in courses such as developmental, social, abnormal, and cognitive psychology.

A gift to the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences Fund allows us to support those students and pursue our research, teaching, and clinical practices at the highest levels. It helps us unlock the mysteries of the mind and brain, expand our understanding of human behavior, train the next generation of scientists, and improve mental health in communities near and far.

With the aid of our donors and friends, our students receive a world-class education and our extraordinary PBS faculty members conduct breakthrough research through collaborations across campus and around the world. With our scientific and clinical expertise, we provide mental health services to the people of South-Central Indiana. And with the youngest members of our community, we share the excitement of learning through the annual campus-wide Science Fest and during C-SAW: our free, two-week summer camp for child scientists.

Your generous gift will allow us to continue all these pursuits and so much more. Thank you for your support!
