As one of the largest schools of public health in the United States, we offer top-ranked programs in a wide range of health-related fields.
Our extraordinary legacy is now matched by an equally extraordinary group of gifted and dedicated public health scholars. This devoted and energetic community of researchers works toward an ever-brighter future for all by advancing knowledge and helping others through science and education.
The School of Public Health is home to five academic departments with more than 140 faculty that conduct major research projects, publish, teach, and engage with communities across a broad spectrum of health, wellness, and disease-prevention topics. You'll find faculty and students making new discoveries and devising effective solutions to public health issues throughout our laboratories, classrooms, and centers:
- The Department of Applied Health Science is committed to preventing disease and promoting the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
- You will find graduates of our Department of Environmental and Occupational Health working to make a difference all over the world. They are inspectors and detectives who assess and ensure the safety of working conditions, water, food, and air quality.
- The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics studies the distribution and patterns of health events and provides statistical methodology on topics in human health. These two fields of study are the cornerstone of public health research and practice.
- The Department of Health & Wellness Design focuses on infusing health, happiness, and well-being into organizational structures where people live, work, govern, and play.
- From our undergraduate programs in exercise science and sport marketing and management to our doctoral degree in human behavior, the Department of Kinesiology is one of the most comprehensive of its kind in the country.
