FSPH Study Abroad

By Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health

The Fairbanks School of Public Health broadens students' understanding of global health by providing study abroad opportunities to unique places such as Geneva, London or the Nordic countries. But we know that the cost of studying abroad can be a significant barrier for many students and that the financial burden often discourages them from even exploring the option.  A gift to support the FSPH Study Abroad Scholarship fund is an investment in the future of our students and will deepen their understanding of public health and healthcare in global contexts, and contribute to building a stronger, healthier Indiana and beyond.

“The Fairbanks study abroad programs were instrumental in connecting the dots between the classroom theories I’d been studying and their real-world applications. Through study abroad I received an unmatched learning experience with exclusive facility tours, lectures from distinguished healthcare leaders, and meaningful cultural excursions. These programs transform students into alumni with an understanding of local, national, and international healthcare frameworks—which is advantageous not only to their own career growth but also for healthcare in Indiana, the United States, and abroad. I wholeheartedly recommend these transformative programs to all current and future Fairbanks students!”-- Kendra (Perkins) Douglass J.D., M.H.A.

I encourage you to consider supporting the Fairbanks School of Public Health Study Abroad Scholarship. Your gift will empower deserving students to take full advantage of the opportunities our school offers, including valuable international experiences. Your investment in the future of our students will deepen their understanding of public health and healthcare in global contexts, and contribute to building a stronger, healthier Indiana and beyond.

When our students engage in global opportunities, they gain a deeper understanding of the world, which equips them with skills that can significantly shape their future careers in healthcare and public health. Study abroad experiences are a gateway to richer, more profound education, immersing students in new cultures, broadening their perspectives, boosting their confidence and opening doors to future success.
