All-Star Cure

By Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center

The Komen Tissue Bank (KTB) at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center has collected normal breast tissue and blood samples from more than 5,100 women. Housed within the cancer center’s Vera Bradley Foundation Center for Breast Cancer Research, the KTB provides an important tool for both IU and international researchers as they learn how breast cancer develops. Gifts to this fund provide essential operating support for the KTB and research utilizing its samples.

Additional Information

On July 12-13 the Susan G. Komen Tissue Bank at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center (Komen Tissue Bank or KTB) will host a historic breast tissue collection event in partnership with the WNBA All-Star Host Committee, where science meets sport and community powers the cure. Fueled by the success of Indy’s Super Cure more than 13 years ago, the KTB is partnering with the WNBA All-Star Host Committee to host a two-day breast tissue collection event to put breast cancer research on a fast break.

In conjunction with All-Star Cure, the Komen Tissue Bank celebrates our All-Star Volunteers as they raise philanthropic support for the tissue bank leading up to the event. Join our All-Stars by making a philanthropic gift to support funding this world class repository and strengthening the KTB’s position as a national and international resource for breast cancer research.
