Dr. Ellen Ketterson was one of the founding members of CISAB and its first co-director, a position she shared with founding member Dr. Bill Timberlake. Ellen retired in January 2026. To commemorate the occasion and recognize her critical contributions to the program, CISAB established the CISAB Founders Fellowship. This fellowship will honor not just Ellen’s longstanding commitment to CISAB, but also the important work of Bill and the other founding members, Jeff Alberts, Joe Farley, Drew King, Val Nolan, John Phillips, Bill Rowland, Dale Sengelaub, Sam Skinner, Joe Steinmetz, Rod Suthers, and Meredith West. The fellowship provides support to graduate student members of CISAB.
To get the ball rolling, former Directors Greg Demas, Troy Smith, Dale Sengelaub, and current Director Cara Wellman banded together to donate a total of $10,000 to the Founders Fellowship.
If this is your first time giving, it’s the perfect moment. To celebrate this milestone year, all first-ever gifts to IU will be matched $1:$1 up to $500 until $80,000 matching funds run out, potentially doubling the impact of your generosity. Remember, all gifts are tax-deductible. Plus, 10 first-time donors will be chosen at random to earn an additional $1,000 bonus for the fund of their choice!
